Cataract Eye Problems and Ethos Drops

21-03-2019

If you have 20/20 vision, you are among the fortunate few, certainly if you retain it for most of your life. It is normal for eyesight to deteriorate as you get older but if all that means is a pair of reading glasses for artificial light, what’s the problem?

Most people expect their eyesight to worsen as they get older but sometimes, they accept that without realising that something can be wrong. It is a strong argument for having regular eye tests because that will identify whether it is more than just aging. If for example your eyesight becomes blurred, that is no something that glasses can solve; it is a sign that something is wrong.

As an example, diabetes is an increasingly common problem in today’s population, those in middle age and older in particular. It is something that can certainly affect eyesight because high blood sugar can impact on the blood vessels in the retina. It is a condition called diabetic retinography. Plenty of people seem to live without diabetes without initially realising it. Similarly, they may suffer from vision problems which result from that diabetes without knowing the exact reasons for their problems. What is actually happening in these cases is that extra blood cells are developing in the eye and any bleeding will then lead to spots in the eyes and could ultimately lead to blindness.

It is a frightening prospect but not something that happens too regularly. The secret is to be conscious of the need to do everything you can to stay healthy and that includes a good diet with all the vitamins and minerals that a body needs, and eyes as well.

Cataracts are arguably the main cause of blurred vision. You can have surgery to remove them but that can be costly, and any type of procedure like that is disconcerting. Alternative cataract treatments include good eyedrops that are available online, and on sites such as eBay.

If you begin to get blurred vision, it can be the result of a number of other things:

• It can be the result of a stroke and you should realise that you may not be conscious of a mild stroke.

• High blood pressure is a regular diagnosis; it is more common than you think. There are treatments for such things, and it makes sense to have your blood pressure checked regularly as well. It is a simple thing to do yourself and at any warning signs, medical advice is needed.

Migraines can certainly have an effect on your vision, and you should certainly get advice on how to prevent their re-occurrence.

• Worse still, there is the chance of a brain tumour if your vision gets blurred so act.
Whatever the reason for your blurred vision, there is help at hand in the form of eyedrops for all but the most serious cases.
