There are some steps you can take to help reduce the risk of developing cataracts:

Wear CE-marked sunglasses to reduce your eyes’ exposure to the sun’s UV rays
Cease smoking and heavy alcohol consumption
Keep your weight, blood pressure and blood sugar levels in check
Have a healthy, antioxidant-rich diet with plenty of colourful fruit and vegetables, and take regular exercise
Have your eyes examined regularly so that any changes can be detected and appropriate steps taken
